Yesterday was Lauren's last day teaching. Her teacher cadet class is over and has now been replaced with Marine Biology for the last semester.
The kids made a big, colorful card for her (with all their signatures) and she cried having to say goodbye to them (she said she was able to hold it in until she got to her car).
The teacher she was under gave her a sweet gift (a candle with apples around it) and also the gift of how to be a good, kind, loving christian teacher.
Lauren spent Tuesday evening out shopping for "her kids" and Ms. Bland. She said she HAD to buy them all something. They must have made a strong impression on her...because she doesn't part with money very easily. She bought some sweet teachery things from Lifeway bookstore...and lots of goodies from the dollartree for the kids.
Ms. Bland wrote a glowing recommendation for her with things like "excellent scholastic ability, work ethic, dedication, dependability..." "high level of learning, performance and fun." "strong classroom management skill, strong student engagement skills, strong communication skills".
We are so proud!

Lauren will make a really great teacher. I'm sure all of the kids are sad to see her go.
Okay ... you made me cry. I love the pictures. I'm so proud of Laluren (you and Chris). It is almost unheard of these days to see words like dependable and excellent work ethic when describing a teenager. GO LAUREN! How did this happen that I would be so blessed to have such great kids and grands? Must be a God thing!
