Kai's first AllStar experience was less than expected.
He did absolutely outstanding...catching fly balls, hitting hard and long. But the overall teams performance was pretty sad. No fundamentals...very irritating.
They played 3 games...and lost 3 games.
It didn't help that the tournament was on the hottest day of the year.
I thought we would die out there and the boys look positively drained.
This weekend is the last tournament and I am wishing for them to play with excellence.
If not...I may just have to coach next year. I do not like my babies to lose.

Good for Kai's Personal best. Baseball is truly a sport that 1 kid can shine even though the team as a whole fails. It's unfortunate that the ALL-Star (which is often an oximoronic statement) experience is not that. We have tons of experience in this area and eventually as he gets older he will be able to make up for these guys "short-falls".

I really love these pictures. I hope it's cooler next weekend and that they win some, too.
