Happy Birthday Ben!

by teresa

I picked this song today (Cover The Earth) because it is one of Ben's favorites.
As a matter of fact, Chris and I listened in on him belting it out in the shower last week.
Today is his 10th birthday and I can NOT believe it.
The baby of the family.
The last.
That's just a tad sad for me.
What can I say about Ben?
He is confident, friendly, blessed(the kid just has the touch), beautiful and loving (to everyone but Nick...but I know one day that will change).
Today I am surprising him at school with lunch and cupcakes for his class.
Because his birthday falls in the middle of a school week, we are having his party Friday night, with all the family and some soccer buddies.
If you know Ben, leave a comment with a memory you have of him.
It can be funny, touching or both!

Happy Birthday, Ben. I love you and am so proud of you. When you were little, I used to love the way you talked. You couldn't say the J or G sound very well and it sounded like you were speaking French (Schacky and Schorge for Jackie and George). And you spoke so slowly that by the time you finished a sentence, I couldn't remember what the beginning of the sentence was. You were so precious and you still are. And you're so good at everything you do. Most of all, though, you are so kind to everyone and the Light of Jesus shines so brightly in you.

B...is for Beautiful Boy with Bright Blue eyes and a Big heart.

E...is for Endearting, Energetic, Excellent athelete, who is Extraordinary in so many ways.

N...is for my Nice, Nurturing Nephew who I love immeasurably.

Benny Benny BooBooBoo...I am so glad that you are ours. You are a great cousin to my babies and I know they will never have a better friendship with any other person.

My favorite memory of you is when your mommy sat you and Kristian on the couch and tried to interagate the two of you on WHO BROKE THE PIGGY BANK. Ya'll were only about 3 years old. It was the funniest thing how you kept saying Kristian did it and then Kristian would say that you did it. In the end, we still didn't know WHO BROKE THE PIGGY BANK.

I love you forever my precious boy.

Happy Birthday my precious boy! There are so many wonderful memories it''s hard to pick one. I love your smile and love it that you are always smiling. I believe God sent you to us to light up our life. I love it that you are so, so sweet. I especially love it when you say "I love you Nanny".
P.S. Cover the Earth is one of my favorite songs too.

I love that song, too, Jackie. And I also love to hear Ben say "I love you Nanny." There is nothing as sweet as the love of our grandchildren, is it?

I loved seeing Ben each week at Good News Club. We miss you all.

I also enjoyed going to VBS at your church - I have this picture of him with his hands raised singing to the Lord.

And of course, I love seeing all the family pictures on your blog Teresa.
