No more slacking. After a week back at work in the office, it's time to get after it again. In the Baltimore \ Washington area today and tomorrow. Richmond Thursday. Two trips to the Carolinas and three to Georgia before the month is up, including a week that goes: Monday in Atlanta, Tuesday morning and afternoon in Charlotte, Tuesday Night and Wednesday in Atlanta, back in Norfolk by late Wednesday night, Thursday at home, then Friday - Sunday in Northern Va. (though the final stretch is for "pleasure" with the family).
I'm glad we're celebrating Kai's birthday this weekend, because I'd sure hate to miss it.
Some observations from Baltimore:
- There are no ABC prime time shows in this Marriott! A Pat Robertson show documenting miracles is on the ABC affiliate. Pretty neat stories. I guess the special on the people he says God is striking down with strokes will be next (sorry . . . forgive me Lord!).
- Watching the local news here, lots of people find themselves shot, stabbed, run over by cars and otherwise prematurely dead in Baltimore. You can understand why several homicide-detective cop shows are portrayed about the area. Better bolt that door! In the strangest story, a man yesterday was found dead on the I-95 beltway. If you've experienced the Beltway between DC and Baltimore, you know traveling it in a car is treacherous. Somehow, this guy was on it, without the benefit of a car! Not surprisingly, I guess, that didn't work out too good for him. No word on what happened. The biggest angle that was covered here: The horrible traffic problems it caused. The nerve of him blocking traffic like that!
- With no ABC, I'm watching college basketball now. Follow me closely. Of those on TV now, we want Wisconsin and Va. Tech to win, because in the weird world of college basketball ratings (called the RPI), these 2 teams winning will raise the rating of my beloved ODU Monarchs (who are not even playing tonight), which will increase my chances of having a good March Madness.

Thanks for the update on your where abouts ... now I know how to pray :) Careful out there.
Wisconsin & Va. Tech ... got it. Who won last night?
Hey, watch the comments re: Baltimore! We have lots of great things here, safe things like the Aquarium and the Museum of Modern Art - no one ever gets hurt or dies prematurely there. Although there was that watertaxi accident two summers ago! In the past month, we have only had two shootings at the nearest malls and one stabbing at The Avenue. You're safe here, just lock your doors. :)
Wisconsin won. Va. Tech lost.
